Hello & welcome to my blog, Hayseed Home & Harvest: formerly Hayseed Homemakin’! It is so good to be back with a fresh new start, thanks to the very talented ladies, Andra & Kelly, at With Grace & Gold! TODAY IS LAUNCH DAY & I have been so excited to get back to blogging again since the day I decided to reach out to these girls! It has been a tough secret to keep! So, grab yourself a cup of coffee, here’s the long-winded story:
For those of you who followed Hayseed Homemakin’ back in the day, thank you for hanging in there & coming back to me! Your support and encouraging words have always meant so much to me and I am SO looking forward to reuniting with this sweet community! That old flicker of support & encouragement is what lit my path back here, so thank YOU!
After a long break from my blog and after so many big life events, I have felt a creative void that has been pulling me back in this direction. Instagram is where I have been sharing little bits and pieces of the things I love during my hiatus; my decorating ideas, daily life, our farmhouse, our animals, the kids, etc. But I found that I really hold back on social media because I know not everyone is there to see all of those things. RIGHT HERE, on this blog, is where I can share without feeling like I’m annoying someone with another teacup photo or another photo of a centerpiece because YOU came HERE to see exactly that! (Well, at least I hope so!) I will still share some those things on Instagram, but I get to go into more detail on Hayseed Home & Harvest and you can come & go as you please.
I knew that I wanted to get started again, but didn’t feel very motivated to put on those old Hayseed Homemakin’ shoes because it felt like they just didn’t fit the way they used to. Homemaking is something I love, but not my entire life anymore, so with a little bit of a lifestyle change, Hayseed Home & Harvest seems to be a better fit. It’s a blend of my love for homemaking, but also ties into my new life as the wife of a hunter and our life together on a small farm with our kids!
The name change decision took a while for me to make, but once I did, it felt right and I moved forward by designing a new logo and then contacting With Grace & Gold. After one of my best friends, Ali (Alexandra Eve), hired them to design her new website, I immediately fell in love with their work! As a graphic designer, I am really picky about the overall aesthetic of a brand and combed through all of my options to be absolutely sure, but just kept coming back to them. I just feel like they do it like no other: from start to finish their process is so well-organized and streamlined, their eye for design is flawless, and they really seem to understand the vision of their clients. The decision was an easy one to make & I am so glad I made it!
So to my old friends, and new, thank you so much for stopping by Hayseed Home & Harvest! I hope you visit again very soon & that what I bring to the table here serves you well.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank YOU!
