Kick off your boots & stay a while…

filed under

Pink tile, green carpet, the wrong kind of wood paneled walls – just to paint a quick picture of how ugly this room used to be.  As a breezeway this room really didn’t serve a purpose, and a mudroom entry is A MUST for a Minnesota winter.

My sketch quickly turned into this.  I am amazed.

 In love with the ceiling.
These cast-iron hooks are from a local gift shop… Made by Creative Co-Op

The stain used for everything is Minwax – Dark Walnut  (it has been used for several projects around the house, including the screen door & bar – pictured below.)

Seriously, this room is gorgeous! Also, could there possibly be any more cute pairs of boots in one place?!

Amazing work. I have very little wood in my house, basically just the bannister. But, if I did, this is the way I would go. Your photos are very inspirational.

This is such a great space! I stumbled across your blog from Farmhouse 5540 and I like what I see. I have one suggestion though- It would be a lot better if you used a larger font. It would be so much easier to read!
